WILLIAMSBURG FOSTERS PROACTIVITY!
I, William, the CEO & Founder of Williamsburg, have helped my students to find their intrinsic motivation. I believe that passive actions without inner inspiration can be fundamentally unhelpful for children's lives. Helping them find inner inspiration leads to lasting change.

Practical studying blends into real life. Intrinsic motivation can come from moments when students realize that the content in text books connects to their daily lives. I have witnessed students finding a correlation between studying and real life. In fact, a high school student in my class resonated with an article that said genuine freedom comes from ability, not from liberation from laws. The moral enriched his life. He found his inner motivation. This, in turn, led to continuous and natural academic pursuits. Learning puts learners in a good mood.

Secondly, academic growth derives from comprehension skills. Only detailed explanations of grammar, grounded in sentence structure, can help students uncover the deeper and authentic meanings behind language, which is my teaching method. It leads to the development of literacy, the ability to organize information, which is exactly what the Korean SAT and GPA demand. To maximize the effect, I encourage them to continue creating sentences by applying the grammar concepts, so their language — how they solve exam questions, speak, or write — becomes effective and practical.

This academic journey offers children the marvelous opportunity to grow and mature, both intellectually and personally, which serves as sustainable fuel for fostering proactivity. It leads to much greater growth in the long run. It is the path to liberation from everyone's own issue.
Persuasion is the key to education.
WILLIAMSBURG BELIEVES IN THE POWER OF PERSUASION!
In leadership theory, the effect of persuasion has already been proven. We are not able to control our students directly, or through force. Instead, our role is to interact with them gently and anticipate their changes. I have met with diverse students in Gwacheon, Mok-dong, and Gagnam, ranging from existing high-achievers, to those who struggle with their studies, and are under significant pressure.

Kant, a prominent philosopher, mentioned humans have common sense. Common sense refers to situations where everyone has a similar emotional response to something good or beneficial. Children also have their own judgment as individuals. Though it's imperfect, we should discuss and work on it together. When adults listen to and understand them, they would appreciate it. An adequate and persuasive approach can lead children to positive outcomes. All children possess inner strengh to navigate life's ups and downs.

Most students who are already excelling say that they have fallen in love with English, and those under pressure have started to study hard with a passion that comes from within. All of them experienced improvements in their scores and felt relieved from their worries. Internal passion creates a virtuous circle.

I put a great deal of effort into ensuring that time spent with Williamsburg has a positive impact on my students. This is my calling as an educator, which is something that can't be farmed out to others.

할 수 있도록 합니다.

윌리엄스버그의 교육 철학은 설득 Persuasion 입니다.

저명한 철학자인 칸트는 인간에게는 공통감 Common Sense 이 있다고 말했습니다. 인간이라면 누구나 무엇이 좋은 지를 선별할 수 있는 공통된 감정적 반응을 가지고 있다는 의미입니다. 아이들 또한 고유한 인격체로서 각자의 판단력을 가지고 있습니다. 적절하고 설득력 있는 시도가 아이들을 좋은 방향으로 인도할 수 있습니다. 아이들도 무엇이 옳고 좋은 일인지 이해할 수 있기 때문입니다. 우리가 귀 기울여 듣고 이해하려 할 때, 아이들도 우리의 말에 귀 기울입니다.

리더십 이론에서 설득의 효과는 이미 입증되어 왔습니다. 우리는 아이들을 직접적으로 통제할 수 없습니다. 우리의 역할은 함께 상호작용하며 변화를 기대하는 일입니다. 설득을 통하여 내면에서 나오는 열정은 아이들의 삶에 긍정적인 선순환을 제공합니다.

다양한 학생들을 접해왔습니다. 이미 좋은 성적을 달성하고 있는 아이들이 대다수였지만, 학업 스트레스로 어려움을 겪고 있는 아이도 있었습니다. 이미 두각을 드러내는 아이들은 영어가 정말 좋아졌다고 이야기했고, 어려워하던 아이들은 내면에서 우러나오는 열정으로 지식을 탐구하게 되었습니다. 아이들은 모두 성적 향상과 고민으로부터 해방되었습니다.
